In their sixth match of the season the Bisons dropped a 7-0 match to Abilene Christian University Feb. 26 in Nashville.

“Starting with the doubles the guys came out strong and competed at a high level tonight,” said Bisons coach Andrew Harris. “The guys really put themselves in position to win the doubles but ACU came up with some big shots.”

Andy Mizell and Joe McArdle won the No. 3 doubles set versus Hutton Jones and Joey Faris 8-6.

Mario Hernandez had a tough singles match, losing in a tiebreaker to Quinton Petereson-Paul 9-8 (7-3).

The Wildcats improved to 11-1. Lipscomb is 4-2 overall.

“When you play quality teams they are going to play better in tight situations and we need to raise our level as well. A lot of that is experience and learning how to win, said Harris.

“We are not going to hang our heads they have a quality program and we need to get ready for Western Kentucky on Saturday and come out with the same level of attitude.”

The Bisons will travel to 3-3 Western Kentucky Saturday Feb. 28. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. in Bowling Green, Ky.
