Lipscomb University tennis coach Lynn Griffith has announced the signing of Daniel Hangsteffer from Signal Mountain, Tenn.

Hangsteffer won the Tennessee State Closed, 18-year-old division as a 16-year-old. He was named the Sportsmanship Award Winner at the USTA Zonal Team Tournament in both 2002 and 2003. As a junior in Tennessee, he has always been consistently ranked in the top 5 of the state in his age division.

"We are glad to have Daniel sign with our program," said Dr. Griffith. "He comes from a tennis family. His older brothers played tennis at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, but we are so excited that Daniel has decided to come our way.

" He will be a total fit for our program. He is an excellent student, has great morals, and he is a great tennis player."
