Sherman wins No. 1 match for Bisons against UT-Martin

The Lipscomb Bisons tennis team's trip to the University of Tennessee at Martin Friday was anything but enjoyable.

The Bisons lost the match 6-1.

The only singles victory for the Bisons was Mike Sherman who played in the No. 1 spot and beat Stephan Brower by scores of 6-2, 2-6 and 6-3.

Rounding out the singles matches were:

David Carillo lost to Alfredo Krywacz, 6-2, 6-2

Daniel Hangstefer lost to Andrey Yesipov, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2

Colten Jones lost to Chris Slabbert, 6-3, 6-7, 10-8

Andy Mizell lost to Will Taylor, 6-3, 6-4

Daniel Carrillo lost to Petr Markov, 6-1, 7-6, 7-5

In doubles the team of Jeff West and Mizell won the only match for the Bisons playing in the No. 3 spot. They beat Slabbert and Markov 8-5.

In the No. 1 doubles match Sherman and Jones lost to Brower and Krywacz 8-6. In the No. 2 doubles match Hangstefer and David Carrillo lost to Yesipov and Taylor by a score of 8-2.
