Bisons can't seem to manage in-state opponent Tennessee Tech

On January 25, 2008 the men's tennis team fought a hard match against in-state opponent Tennessee Tech University. The Bisons fell 1-6.

DOUBLES: 1)Hernandez/Hangstefer(LU) vs. Gilioli/O'Brien(TTU) TTU Won 8-3

2)Cummings/Mizell (LU) vs. Zareo/Vaglietti (TTU) TTU Won 8-4

3)West/McArdle (LU) vs. Crawford/Gutierrez (TTU) TTU Won 8-5

SINGLES: 1)Joe McArdle vs. B.Zarco TTU Won 6-2. 6-1

2)Daniel Hangstefer vs. T. Gilioti TTU Won 6-4, 6-3

3)James Murrell vs. D. O'Brien TTU Won 6-1,6-2

4)Mario Hernandez vs. G. Vaglietti TTU Won 6-1, 6-1

5)Jeff West vs. M. Gutierrez TTU Won 7-5, 6-0

6)Josh Cummings vs. J. Crawford LU Won 4-6, 7-6, 10-7

Coach Andrew Harris said, "It was a tough match for the guys but you must give Tennessee Tech credit. They came out and fought hard from the beginning. We started slow and they really took advantage of that in the doubles."

The Bisons are now gearing up to head to Georgia Tech on the 27th.

"As far as singles, we need to continue to get better from game to game and learn how to focus on individual points. We will look to bring a different attitude on Sunday when we go to Atlanta and play Georgia Tech," said Harris.
