Bisons lose 6-1 to Campbell
The Bisons return to Nashville from their trip through the Carolinas empty handed after their 6-1 loss to Atlantic Sun foe Campbell University on Saturday.

Campbell swept the doubles point to edge a 1-0 advantage over the Bisons.

At No. 1, senior Joe McArdle and freshman Oliver Strecker fell to Davy Sum and Dominik Kaniewski in a close 8-6 match, while freshmen Miguel Cortez and David Salazar were defeated 8-4 at No. 2 by Fernando Guillen and David Clavera.

Sophomores Tanner Brown and Colby Shaw fell to Larbi Lamzouri and Josep Baro at No. 3 8-6 to close out the doubles play.

The Bisons only singles win of the day came at No. 6, where senior Mario Hernandez easily rolled past James Jones 8-2, a proset substituting for a full match following the Camels’ clinching of the match.

At No. 1, Strecker was defeated by Sum 6-3, 6-2, while Salazar fell to Guillen at No. 2 6-1, 6-3.

Junior Chad Pierron took his opponent to three sets but eventually fell to Lamzouri at No. 3 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Cortez lost at No. 4 to Clavera 6-3, 6-0, and Shaw fell to Baro 8-4 in a pro set at No. 5.

The Bisons return to Nashville on Saturday evening and will hit the courts next to face A-Sun rival Belmont in the “Battle of the Boulevard” on Saturday, March 9 at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center at 10 a.m.
