Mitchell earns all-conference tennis honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Atlantic Sun Conference has designated two Lipscomb tennis players for postseason honors.

Sophomore Lipscomb tennis player Rob Mitchell has been named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference First Team.

Alejandro Manzanares was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Earlier this week Mitchell was also named to the A-Sun All-Academic Team.

Mitchell was an even 10-10 this year for the Bisons, never moving from No. 1 singles.

"I am really proud of Rob and Alejandro," Lipscomb coach Mario Hernandez said. "Both guys really represent what we want our team to be about.

"Each day of practice they come to the court or gym looking to improve in some way. Very rarely do I feel that they are ever just at practice because they're supposed to be there. Each day they came focused on improving and it's no surprise it led to strong records and results in our top two positions. That's the standard of preparation and performance that anyone coming through our program will be held to from now on."
