Men's tennis falls to No. 29 Kentucky

BIRMINGHAM, Ala - The Lipscomb men’s tennis team finished its weekend trip to Birmingham with a 4-0 defeat to No. 29 Kentucky.

Even with the loss, head coach Mario Hernandez did see positives from the Bisons tough weekend.

“We played tough completion,” Mario Hernandez said. “Tough loses exposed things that we need to work on.”

Kentucky was the highest ranked team left on Lipscomb’s schedule. Hernandez stressed the importance of playing that caliber of teams.

“Kentucky is the highest level we’ll play against,” Mario Hernandez said. “This shows what we need to do to get to that level.”

Coach Hernandez and his Bison squad are still confident with their play as they head into the week. The Bisons will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Illinois for a match at SIU at Carbondale.

“We have a short turnaround,” Coach Hernandez said. “The guys are as confident as ever. We’ll just keep working hard.”
