Men's tennis kicks off spring season against Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb men’s tennis team is set to begin its spring campaign on Friday as the Bisons take on Vanderbilt at 5 p.m. at the Currey Indoor Tennis Center.

The two teams faced off multiple times in the fall season, including matchups at the Commodore Scramble and the ITA Regionals.

At the Regionals, Lipscomb senior Rob Mitchell defeated Vanderbilt’s Cameron Klinger, then the 60th-ranked player in the country, 7-6(7-3), 3-6, 6-3.

At the annual Commodore Scramble, junior Daniel Cardenas and junior Thais Minet picked up a doubles victory over Vanderbilt’s Alex Ross and Vikram Chari, while junior Alejandro Manzanares defeated Commodore Tate Allwardt in a singles match.

Vanderbilt is coming off of a 4-3 loss to No. 13 Northwestern and a 4-0 sweep of Belmont.
