FORT MYERS, Fla. – Three Lipscomb men’s tennis team members were recognized for their play this season as Rob Mitchell, Alejandro Manzanares and Victor Chaw all received ASUN Conference postseason honors.
Mitchell was named to the first team while Manzanares received second-team honors and Chaw was named to the All-Freshman team.
This is Mitchell’s third consecutive year to be named first-team All-Conference after receiving the honor following his sophomore and juniors campaigns as well. Mitchell was one of four unanimous selections. The senior went 6-7 during the season in singles play, but went 4-2 in conference play at the top spot.
Manzanares earned a spot on the ASUN second-team for a second consecutive year following a year where he went 11-7 in singles action while moving between the first and second spots in the order.
After his first year of collegiate tennis, Victor Chaw finds himself on the All-Freshman team after posting an 8-10 record in singles action between the second and third spots.
As the Bisons prepare for their first round matchup with Kennesaw State on Friday in the Atlantic Sun Tournament, Bison head coach hopes this honors push his players to achieve more moving forward.
“These three have represented and performed well for our team this year,” Hernandez said “These honors were well deserved and I hope this fuels their desire to work harder and achieve more. The coaching staff and their teammates are proud of them.”
Lipscomb is set to begin conference tournament play at 5 p.m. on Friday.
