Men's tennis set for Saturday showdown with Austin Peay

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Lipscomb men's tennis team enters the weekend looking to build off its victory over Gardner-Webb last Saturday.

In order to do so, the Bisons will have to take down nearby Austin Peay, which enters the match winless after dropping contests to Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga.

Doubles has been a strong point for Lipscomb so far this season, having picked up the doubles point in a loss to Vanderbilt on Jan. 21 and in the win over Gardner-Webb.

Sophomore Victor Chaw has been on the winning side of the coin in three of his four total matches, having notched two doubles victories with senior Alejandro Manzanares. The duo of sophomore Jorge Ortegon and senior Daniel Cardenas is also 2-0 in doubles play.

Meanwhile, the Governors have had a rough go of it in their first two matches. The Blue Raiders crushed Austin Peay 7-0 on Jan. 15, and the Govs later dropped a 5-2 contest to the Mocs last week.

Lipscomb's matchup with the Govs is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday at Richland Country Club.

Check on Saturday night for a full recap of the match. Updates will also be posted to the team's Twitter (@LipscombMTEN).
