Men's tennis set for road trip to Indiana

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- After falling to Tennessee Tech and Alabama last weekend, the Lipscomb men’s tennis team is looking to right the ship with a trip to The Hooiser State.

The Bisons will take on IUPUI (2-4) on Friday at 1 p.m., and then cap the weekend with a showdown against Ball State (6-1) on Saturday at the same time.

Lipscomb (2-3) has been led by sophomore Victor Chaw, who owns a 3-1 singles record entering the IUPUI match. The team of Chaw and senior Alejandro Manzanares is 2-1 in doubles play.

IUPUI has played a tough schedule in the early going, dropping matches at Michigan State, Kentucky and Iowa. Bradley Luetschwager enters the match with a 4-2 record in singles play, but the Jaguars have struggled in spring doubles action, compiling a 3-14 record in their first 6 matches.

Ball State enters Saturday’s contest with just one loss – a 6-1 defeat to Indiana on Jan. 15. Freshman Chris Adams leads the Cardinals with a 4-1 singles record, while the team of Conner Anderson and Marko Guzina own a 4-1 record in doubles action.

Lipscomb will head south next weekend for road matches at Jacksonville State and Mercer. The Bisons face the Gamecocks on Saturday, February 24 at 10 a.m., before dueling with the Bears on Sunday at 1 p.m.
