NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb men’s tennis team is off to a 3-2 start and looking to add to its early-season success Saturday when Grand Canyon comes to town.
The Bisons and the Lopes (3-1) are set to battle at Richland Country Club at 5 p.m.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
Lipscomb put together a strong performance in both singles and doubles last weekend on the way to a 4-3 victory over Furman and a 4-1 win at Samford.
Pablo Caffarena and Jorge Ortegon lead the team on the year with 3-1 records in singles action, while Ortegon and Pedro Uribe tout an unblemished 3-0 mark in doubles.
GCU comes to town with a pair of sweeps and a 6-1 win over FGCU on its record. Their top four singles own either 3-1 or 4-0 records. In doubles, the Lopes have seen the same success with Lorenzo Fucile and Mathieu Rajaonah owning a 4-0 record in the top spot.
