Lipscomb track and field eclipsed six school indoor track and field records on Day One of the Hoosier Hills Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. Sophomore Dani Walker broke the mile run record, while four freshmen set other school-best marks.

Lipscomb head coach Bill Taylor has built the Bison program into one of the top in the Southeast. Before coming to Lipscomb, he created a program from scratch at Northwest (Wash.) University and won a national championship in women's cross country.

Lipscomb track and field ended a long weekend, Sunday, at the TSU Invite. Freshmen Houston Ward and April Terry had big days in the shot put and hammer throw, and the Lipscomb men and women distance medley relay teams won their respective events.

More records fell on Day Two of the ETSU Niswonger Invitational, Saturday, in Johnson City. Sophomore Tucker Peabody had the day's biggest highlight, winning the 200m dash final and lowering his school record in the event to 21.28s.

Sophomore Tucker Peabody set two of the four school records the Lipscomb track and field team broke, Friday, at the ETSU Niswonger Invitational. Freshmen Matthew Deery (60m hurdles) and Colin Dempster (400m dash) also set Lipscomb records.

After a weekend away from competition, Lipscomb track and field gets back underway at two competitions this weekend. Friday and Saturday, the Bison will be at ETSU and the Niswonger Invitational, and will be in Nashville, Sunday, for the TSU Invite.

Lipscomb sophomore sprinter Tucker Peabody has been named Atlantic Sun Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Lead by sophomore Tucker Peabody, freshman Colin Dempster and junior Ryan Whitley, Lipscomb showed toughness and determination on day two of the SIU Saluki Booster, Saturday.

Freshman April Terry added to her school weight throw record and pole vaulter Matthew Deery put together a runner-up finish in his first collegiate pole vault event on Day One at the Saluki Booster, Friday.

Lipscomb track and field will head to Carbondale, Ill. for the Saluki Booster, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. This will be Lipscomb's third meet of the indoor season, and head coach Bill Taylor is confident his teams will continue their improvement this weekend.
