Track and field teams post solid marks at APSU meet
A small number of Lipscomb track and field athletes competed in the Austin Peay Governors Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn., Saturday.

On a windy day with 18-20 miles per hour winds Amanda Twigg picked up a win for the Lady Bisons in the women's 1500 meters with a time of 4:48.86.

Lipscomb took the first four places in the women's 5000 meters with Shelby Marvel winning in 18:34.

Taylor Mason set a new school record in the women's pole vault with a leap of 2.52m.

For the men Nasheed Burgess set two new all-time PRs with a 100-meter time of 10.89 and a 200-meter heat win in 22.29, good enough for second place overall.

Steven Mason won the men's javelin with a toss of 43.95m.

Another small group of Lipscomb track athletes will compete next week in the TSU Boston-Moon Invitational in Nashville, while the rest of the team preps for the A-Sun Conference Championships in Jacksonville, Fla., the following weekend.
