Prude honored by A-Sun for record mark

MACON, Ga. –Lipscomb sophomore Gemikal Prude has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Week after tying a 36-year old school record last weekend.

Prude, a native of Melbourne, Fla., had a leap of 2.08m in the high jump at the TSU Invite to finish second and top-overall collegiate finisher. The jump tied the school record which was originally set in 1977 by Phil Bodiford.

Prude’s mark stands as the second-best jump this season in the A-Sun as he earns his first career conference honor.

The track and field squad returns to action this weekend at two different meets. The Bisons will partake in the Hoosiers Hills Invite in Bloomington, Ind., and at the Samford Invite at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
