Peabody sets school record on national stage

DES MOINES, Iowa - Tucker Peabody set a school record, but failed to advance to the final round of the U.S.A. Senior Nationals Saturday afternoon at Drake University.

Peabody finished 21st in the nation with an all-time personal record of 20.61 in the 200 meters in addition to the school record.

"You can't ask for more than a guy running the fastest time of his life in the biggest meet of his career," Lipscomb track and field coach Bill Taylor said. "He ran his all time 200m PR, broke his school record, and made Lipscomb history as the first athlete ever to compete in the U.S.A. Senior National Championships."

With the performance Peabody closed the books on an outstanding junior season.

"I know Tucker wanted to advance to the semifinals, however he finished the season with an exclamation mark," Taylor said. "He's got even more big meet experience. Even though his season just ended, I know he is excited for his senior year."
