ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Gemikal Prude will be returning to Lipscomb’s campus with another impressive performance under his belt.
Prude was just one of 16 qualified participants in the NCAA I Indoor National Championships that took place Friday in Albuquerque.
Prude finished in ninth place with a jump spanning 2.15 meters.
The effort tied the best mark in school history. Prude broke the school record in the men’s high jump in 2013 with a jump of 2.15 meters.
He is also the first male at Lipscomb to reach the national championships. He is the second athlete to reach the national championships behind sophomore Madi Talbert who made an appearance in last year’s championships.
Prude will reconnect with the rest of the track and field team to take on the Shamrock Invite in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on March 20-22.
