Track and field set for Don DeNoon Invite at SIU

NASHVILLE – With only two meets left on the schedule until the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships in late February, the Lipscomb track and field squad will be headed to the Don DeNoon Invite at Southern Illinois University for a weekend competition.

Fresh off of a pair of successful performances at the Vanderbilt and Camel City Invites last weekend, the Bisons will be taking on a competitive field that includes the hosts who are ranked 23rd in the nation in the men’s poll.

Freshman Brooke Kingma will be running in the women’s mile run after earning the A-Sun Track Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Vanderbilt Invite last weekend. She will be joined by senior Kate Bucknam, juniors Sally Larson and Katie Bianchini, sophomore Avery Franklin, and freshmen Brianne Holland and Hannah Holbert in the event.

On the men’s side, junior Wayne Newman will be looking to improve on his impressive times in both the 60m and the 60m hurdles.
