Track and field set for Marshall Invite, Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE – With the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships two weeks away, the Lipscomb track and field squad looks to tune-up before the Championships with a pair of meets over the weekend.

Junior Barbara Lee Ball is headed to the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge, the fourth Vanderbilt-hosted meet that at least one member of the Bisons has participated in this season. Ball will be competing in the 3000m, an event she won earlier this season at the Commodore Invitational with a time of 9:46.13.

The rest of the squad will be attending the Chipotle Marshall Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.

Last week’s trio of winners, juniors Wayne Newman and Katie Binachini and freshman Sam Woodford are among the Bisons expected to compete at Marshall.

Newman took first place in the 60m hurdles last weekend at the SIU Invite, while Bianchini won the mile race and Woodford placed first in the 800m.
