MACON, Ga. – Nine members of the Lipscomb track and field squad were voted to the Atlantic Sun Indoor All-Academic Team as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bisons landed five student athletes on the men’s team and four on the women’s team. Overall, six of the Lipscomb selections were unanimously voted onto the team.
On the men’s side, senior Andrew Bosket, juniors Daniel Lenart, Wayne Newman, and Devon Wade each were unanimous selections, while senior Daniel Gardner also earned a spot on the team.
Bosket and Lenart are both exercise science majors with 3.77 and 3.84 GPA’s, respectively. Newman majors in nursing with a 3.54 GPA. Wade has compiled a 3.80 GPA in molecular biology, while Gardner has a 3.30 GPA as a biology major.
The women’s team landed four runners on the team. Junior Barbara Lee Ball and sophomore Kacey Kemper were selected unanimously, while junior Katie Bianchini and sophomore Avery Franklin were also voted in.
Ball sports a 3.96 GPA as a nursing major. Kemper, Bianchini, and Franklin each have a 4.0 GPA while majoring in biology, Spanish, and dietetics, respectively.
The Purple and Gold just wrapped up a successful indoor season, and will begin outdoor competition later this month at the Alabama Relays.
