Track and field continues indoor season at Emory Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lipscomb track and field squad will be continuing its 2017 campaign with a trip to Birmingham for the Emory Complex Invitational.

The meet is the first outside of Tennessee for the Bisons this season after starting off the year participating in back-to-back meets hosted by fellow Nashville school Vanderbilt.

The Purple and Gold are looking to capitalize on the success from last weekend’s meet at the Vanderbilt Opener Invite.

“We want to get better with everybody every week,” Lipscomb Director of Track and Field Bill Taylor said.

“There’s less competition at this meet, based on the past, compared to Vandy. But, I think that’s going to be really good for us. It gives us a chance to work on some tactical stuff and be low-key, yet strive for big marks. It will be a good experience.”

Although indoor season is still in its early stages, with such a quick schedule the regular season is nearly halfway through. Every meet will be important for the Bisons as they prepare for the ASUN Indoor Championships in February.
