TAMPA, Fla. - A trio of Lipscomb track and field student-athletes are set to compete across four events at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Region Preliminaries this week for a spot in the National Championships.
The meet will take place in Tampa, Florida, starting on Thursday and going through Saturday.
Junior Ryan Speer will kick things off for the Bisons on Thursday with the first round of the 800m at 7:10 p.m.
Later that night, sophomore Courtney Brenner will race in the 10,000m at 8:40.
On Friday, senior Wayne Newman will run in the first round of the 110m hurdles at 3:30 p.m., followed by the only round of the 400m hurdles at 6 p.m.
The finals of the 800m is set for 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the finals for the 110m hurdles will be at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday.
Newman is seeded 16th in the 400m hurdles (51.28 seconds) and 19th in the 110m hurdles (13.82 seconds).
Brenner is seeded 13th in her event (34:03.77), and Speer is placed at 29th (1:49.31).
