Track and field headed north to Liberty Kickoff

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lipscomb track and field squad is back on the track this weekend as the Bisons head north to take on the Liberty Kickoff, hosted by the most recent addition to the ASUN.

The meet is set to begin on Friday at 11:30 a.m. central time with day two of the meet beginning on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

The meet will feature 35 schools including fellow ASUN foe Kennesaw State and former ASUN member USC Upstate among others.

Lipscomb is coming off of a strong start to the season last weekend at the Commodore Invite, where the Bisons turned in several top-10 finishes and featured a number of freshmen debuts on the track.

Sophomore Jonathan Imes was named the ASUN Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at Vanderbilt.

The weekly honor, the first of his career, came after the sprinter set a personal and program indoor record in the 400m with a time of 47.65 seconds to place seventh. He currently ranks first in the event in the ASUN.
