Track and field to split for Husker, Don DeNoon Invites

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad is splitting up for a pair of meets over the weekend as the Bisons are set to compete in the Husker Invitational and the Don DeNoon Invitational.

The Don DeNoon Invite kicks off on Friday at 9:45 a.m., with action picking back up on Saturday at 10 a.m. The meet will take place in Carbondale, Illinois on the campus of Southern Illinois.

The Husker Invite will start at noon on Friday, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The meet is hosted by Nebraska and will take place in Lincoln.

Lipscomb is coming off to a strong start to the season. Following a top-notch showing at the Commodore Invite on opening weekend, the Bisons turned in a great performance at the Liberty Kickoff last weekend.

The Purple and Gold grabbed two wins and multiple top-five placements in Virginia, led by sophomore Jonathan Schwind’s first-place finish in the 1000m and the 4x800m relay squad’s victory.
