ATLANTA – Lipscomb men’s track and field sophomore Jonathan Imes has been named the ASUN Indoor Runner of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
This is Imes’ second weekly award of the season and his career after taking home the honor after a stellar opening weekend of the year.
Imes’ earned this week’s distinction after a record-breaking performance at the Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt.
Imes set a program indoor record in the 400m by placing fourth in 47.09 seconds, breaking his own record from earlier this season.
He also finished fifth in the 200m with an indoor personal-best time of 21.79 seconds.
The Maryland native anks second in the ASUN for both event, and sits 51st in the NCAA for the 400m.
Imes and the rest of the Bisons will hit the track again this weekend at the South Carolina Open.
