Track and field set for final indoor regular season meet

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad is headed to the South Carolina Open for one final tune-up meet prior to the ASUN Indoor Championships.

The meet will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and continue on through the last event at 6:40 p.m.

The Bisons are coming off of a strong week in which multiple program and personal records were set at the Music City Challenge and the Bulldog Open.

Junior Courtney Brenner and sophomore Jonathan Imes were named the ASUN Women’s and Men’s Indoor Track Performers of the Week for their respective performances.

Brenner broke the school indoor record in the 3000m by finishing eighth with a time of 9:35.25. She passed the previous mark set by Dani Walker in 2013.

Imes also broke a school indoor record, passing his own previous top mark in the 400m with a fourth-place finish in 21.70 seconds.
