Track and field performs well at three weekend meets

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad had a busy weekend as the Bisons participated in the Florida Relays, the Raleigh Relays, and the Joey Haines Invite.

Let’s take a look at the top performers from each meet, including a few wins and several top placements.

 

Raleigh Relays

Sophomore Jonathan Schwind turned in the top performance of the weekend for the Bisons. He won his heat and finished 17th overall with a school record time of 3:48.45 in the 1500m.

Junior Courtney Brenner finished 22nd in the 5000m with a time of 16:28.44. Sophomores Lauren Flynt (17:25.60) and Kayla Rudie (17:40.22) placed 89th and 108th, while junior Grace Oetting (17:42.67) placed 112th, respectively.

Junior Zach Israel ran a time of 14:47.95 in the 5000m to place 102nd.

 

Florida Relays

Sophomore Jonathan Imes earned the highest placement for the Bisons, finishing 30th in the 400m dash with a time of 47.37 seconds. He also competed in the 200m (21.71 seconds), placing 63rd.

Senior Ryan Speer placed 40th in the 800m with a time of 1:51.38.

Sophomore Jacob Snyder finished 43rd in 400m hurdles in 55.53 seconds.

Sophomore Grant Mason joined Imes in the 200m, finishing 70th with a 21.83 seconds mark. Freshman Alex Tirado also ran the 200m, placing 105th in 22.49 seconds.

 

Joey Haines Invite

Grace Lahey won the 1500m in 4:49.30, while Hannah Owens (4:55.64) finished fifth.

Haley Kling won the 5000m with a time of 18:00.63.

Kyle Johnson won the 5000m for the men’s side with a time of 15:26.61. Owen Glogovsky (15:26.65) and Adan Rodriguez (15:37.66) earned the next two spots.

Patrick Smith won the 1000m in 31:56.93.

Holli Shannon took second in the 200m in 29.74 seconds.  

Demontae Wilson placed second in the 200m in 52.16 seconds.

Clare Losito finished third in the 3000m steeplechase in 11:36.89.

Josh Hinkle took third in the 1500m in 4:19.34.

 

Next up: Track and field will head to the Tiger Track Classic on April 5th at Auburn.
