JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Lipscomb track and field squad completed the first day of the 2019 ASUN Outdoor Championships at Hodges Stadium hosted by North Florida on Friday.
Sophomore Grant Mason placed third in his heat of the 100m dash to advance to Saturday’s final round thanks to a time of 10.65 seconds.
Freshman Donovan Ross also qualified with a time of 11.02 seconds.
Sophomore Kindrick McLemore earned the Bisons lone point of the day with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.61m.
Fellow sophomore Michel Hassel finished one spot behind with a 34.81m mark.
Sophomore Lindsey Marriott (39:11.09) placed seventh in the 10,000m run.
Senior Clare Losito (12:00.95) and freshman Ayse Allison (12:23.04) finished in eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 3000m steeplechase.
Sophomore Patrick Smith (32:58.24) grabbed eighth in the 10,000m run.
Lipscomb will hit the track again tomorrow starting again at 8 a.m. and continuing through the final event at 6:45 p.m. The majority of the Bisons will be competing in their events tomorrow, with a full day scheduled for the Purple and Gold.
