BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Lipscomb track and field squad competed at the Gladstein Invitational on the campus of Indiana University over the weekend, picking up two individual wins and two school records.
Junior Jonathan Imes won the 400m with a 48.22 second time. Imes also finished second in the 200m with a time of 21.96 seconds.
Sophomore Scott McKenzie also pulled out a win, taking first place in the second section of the 3000m with a time of 8:38.47. Junior Patrick Smith was close behind in third with a time of 8:44.15.
Sophomore Ryan Bush set a new school indoor record with a time of 1:20.28 to place fifth in the second section of the 600m.
Senior Jonathan Schwind also set a new school indoor record, with a time of 1:50.25 to finish third in the 800m.
In the mile run, senior Zach Israel (4:10.25) and junior Brent Leber (4:11.21) took third and fifth in the mile run, both of which set new personal records.
Senior Grace Oetting (9:56.89) and junior Lauren Flynt (9:57.76) also set new personal records in the 3000m to place fifth and sixth.
Juniors Ahmed Amaar (6.94 seconds) and Grant Mason (6.96 seconds) advanced to the finals of the 60m dash and place sixth and seventh, respectively.
Junior Jacob Snyder also advanced to the finals of the 60m hurdles, finishing eighth in 8.69 seconds.
Senior Courtney Brenner set a new personal record in the mile with a time of 5:00.42 to place ninth.
The Bisons will have a weekend off before returning on Feb. 7 for the South Carolina Invitational.
