Lipscomb University golf coach Dr. Ralph Samples signed Marie Fillers from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tenn. in November of last year.

Fillers won the District I Class AAA tournament at the Johnson City Country Club with a 79 after winning the first hole of a playoff. She tied for third in Class AAA Region competition in Jefferson City with an 82 which earned her a berth in the TSSAA State Tournament.
