Lipscomb's Lady Bisons resumed Atlantic Sun play against ETSU, one of the toughest teams in the conference.
In the first half ETSU outscored the Lady Bisons 20-6 in the paint, setting the stage for a 71-51 loss Thursday night at the Memorial Center in Johnson City.
The Lady Bisons went into the dressing room at the half trailing 39-27.
ETSU continued to build on its lead in the second half. But with 6:01 left to play the Lady Bisons completed one last run to cut the lead to 10 at 54-44.
But ETSU once again regained the momentum going on an 11-1 run from 4:37 to 1:34 to seal the win.
The Lady Bisons shot 31.6 percent from the field, hitting 18 of 57 shots. They hit five of 21 tries from 3-point range, a 23.8 percent success rate. They hit 10 out of 20 shots from the free throw line, a 50 percent rate.
Carrigan hit 6 of 18 shots from the field, one of eight from 3-point range. She made one-of-one from the free throw line.
Woods was 5-of-14 from the field, including three of seven from 3-point range. She was also one-of-one from the free throw line.
Carrigan and Julie Martin each grabbed six rebounds to lead the Lady Bisons on the boards.
ETSU made 24of-72 field goal attempts, 33.3 percent. ETSU was five-of-17 from the 3-point line and 18-of-20 from the free throw line.
Michelle DeVault led ETSU with 13 points. Siarre Evans added 12. Jenny Norman scored 11.
Michelle Akers grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds as ETSU held a 59-33 edge on the boards.
The Lady Bisons, 3-10 overall, 1-2 in the A-Sun have little time to dwell on the loss. They will be at Kennesaw State Saturday afternoon to close out the brief road trip.
