BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. _ The Lady Bisons faced the challenge of a hilly course, windy conditions and rain-soaked sections of track in the Atlantic Sun Conference Cross County meet Saturday on the campus of Gardner-Webb University.

Samantha Wood, decked out in an orange bandana covering her head, earned All A-Sun honors with a sixth place finish, covering the 5-kilometer course in a time of 19:18. The Lady Bisons also finished sixth place as a team.

Susan Worden finished 15th with a time of 20:08.

Elizabeth Schall was 34th in a time of 20:46. Carolyn Latham was 46th with a 21:09 finish. Paige Griffin was 48th with a time of 21:18.

Rounding out the finishers for the Lady Bisons were Amanda Tanner in 52nd place with a time of 21:39, Shannon Shoemake in 55th (22:04) and Rachel Snider in 60th (22:33).

The A-Sun Cross County Championships will be held in Nashville next fall and hosted by Lipscomb University.
