The Lipscomb Lady Bisons cross country team finished 22nd as a team in the NCAA South Regional.
The Lady Bisons were without the services of senior Samantha Wood from El Campo, Texas who was unable to compete due to a virus. Wood qualified this season as a member of the Atlantic Sun All-Conference Cross Country team.
The top finisher for the Lady Bisons was senior Susan Worden who covered the 5-kilometer course at the Lambert Acres Golf Course in Maryville, Tenn., in time of 24:05.6, an 86th place finish. Worden is from Edmond, Colo.
Elizabeth Schall, from Honolulu, Hawaii, was 99th with a time of 24:30.6.
Paige Griffin, a sophomore from Brentwood, Tenn., was 131st (25:43.7). On her heels in 132nd place was Carolyn Latham, a sophomore from San Rafael, Calif., with a time of 25:47.4.
Shannon Shoemake, a freshman from Nashville, finished 138th (26:37.6).
Julie Alley, a freshman from Scottsboro, Ala., was 14oth (26:41.3).
"We would have probably finished higher in the team standings if Sam would have been able to compete," Lipscomb coach Karen Robichaud said. "Susan and Elizabeth both did a good job."
