"That kind of win on the road here, is a big win for us," said Head Coach Scott Sanderson. "I just thought that was a really good team win. Everybody contributed a little bit more. If we are going to do the things we want to do and try to accomplish the goals we want to accomplish, then we need a little bit more from everybody. I'm proud of our guys and the way they battled."

"I thought our freshman stepped up. I thought Josh (Slater) was terrific in the first half. I thought Adnan (Hodzic) was very good in the first half," said Sanderson.
Hodzic and Slater combined for 13 first half points and 20 points overall.
Lipscomb jumped out on Marshall in the second half and extended their lead to 9 with 15:52 left in the game. However, the Thundering Herd would not back down.
