The honors continue to pour in for members of the Lipscomb Lady Bisons softball team,
Junior first baseman KellieSirus was named First Team on the CoSIDA /ESPN The Magazine District IV All-Academic Team.
Junior center fielder Lauren Dortwegt was named to the Second Team.
District IV includes all NCAA schools in Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan.
Sirus, a Second Team selection last season, will compete nationally for academic All-America honors.
Sirus, a three-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team member, and a winner of the Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award, was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference First Team by a vote of the coaches and media relations directors.
Dortwegt was named Atlantic Sun All-Conference Second Team. She is also a three-time A-Sun All-Academic selection.
Sirus has a 3.92 grade point average in psychology with plans to enter the nursing field. Dortwegt has a 3.97 GPA in interdisciplinary teaching.
In order to be considered for nomination a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.2 GPA. The student-ahlete must have also participated in at least 50 percent of the games for their respective teams.
