Alaina Jacobson held Georgetown to one hit and Christen Campbell provided the only offense of the day with a two-run home run in the second inning to give Lipscomb the 2-0 win and a clean sweep of the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Jacobson pitched a complete game striking out five. She walked two and gave up a single to Jadig Garcia in the third.
The Lady Bisons had five hits as a team, two from Campbell, and one each from Kellie Sirus, Abby Keese, and Mollie Mitchell.
“The team played really well defensively,” said Jacobson. “It’s always easier to throw well when you have a strong team behind you.”
The Lady Bisons defeated Oakland University, Austin Peay, Kentucky, Kansas and Georgetown this weekend to improve to 12-1 on the year.
Whitney Kiihnl pitched a perfect game against Austin Peay, Lipscomb's first since 1998.
“Overall it was as great weekend for us,” said head coach Kristin Ryman. “Going into this weekend we really wanted to get a better feel for where we are. We beat better teams this weekend and all those wins allowed us to really gauge where our team is.
“Whit obviously had a phenomenal weekend and Alaina’s game today was outstanding. We played some great defensive. Our hitting was outstanding the whole weekend and it shows us what we are capable of. We proved a lot this weekend.”
Lipscomb hosts the Lady Bison Classic next weekend at Draper Diamond. They play Murray State in the opener Friday at 4 p.m.
