The Lady Bisons tennis team competed against Stetson in an Atlantic Sun conference match up on Saturday, March 20 at the Lipscomb Tennis Center.
Lipscomb suffered a 7-0 loss, bringing their conference record to 0-6.
The Lady Bisons struggled to find success in their doubles play.
Elizabeth Keevil and Mackenzie Bishop were defeated at the No. 1 spot by Galbarini and de los Santos 8-0.
Kara Jackson and Danielle Hansen fell 8-1 to Purshatham and Gunning at No. 2.
And at No. 3, Julianne McMeen and Carlina Jow lost to Atkinson and Nowicki 8-2.
With losses at all three doubles positions, the Lady Bisons lost the doubles point to Stetson and entered into singles down 1-0 in the match.
Lipscomb lost matches at each singles spot, allowing Stetson to sweep them 7-0.
Bishop was defeated at No. 1 by de los Santos 6-0, 6-0, while Keevil also lost 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 to Galbarini.
Hansen played a tough match at No. 3, ending with better results but still not quite enough to secure a win. Hansen fell to Atkinson 6-4, 6-3.
Jackson lost at No. 4 to Purshatham 6-1, 6-3 while Jow fell at No. 5 to Gunning 6-0, 6-4, and McMeen was defeated 6-1, 6-0 by Nowicki at No. 6.
Saturday’s loss to Stetson continues the Lady Bisons’ quest for winning results.
The women’s tennis team hopes to find some victories in their upcoming matches to close out the season.
The women have yet to face A-Sun rival Belmont, Kennesaw State, and Mercer, all of which are close in the rankings with the Lady Bisons.
The Lady Bisons play again on Tuesday against Austin Peay. The match will be played at the Lipscomb Tennis Center at 2:00 pm.
