Lipscomb middle blocker Alex Kelly has been named as a candidate for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award.
She is the second Lipscomb player to be a candidate for the award. Last season softball player Kellie Sirus was on the list.
From the list of 30 candidates, 10 finalists will be selected by a national media committee and announced in mid-October. Fan balloting as well as votes from coaches and media will determine the final winner.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Kelly was the Atlantic Sun Player of the Year for 2009 and 2008. She is a member of the preseason All-Conference Team for 2010.
