The Lipscomb Bisons travel to DeLand, Fla., Monday evening to face Stetson in game three of a four-game road trip. The Bisons snapped a five-game win streak with losses at Alabama and Memphis. Monday’s game is set to tip at 7:15 p.m. eastern time.
The senior duo of Adnan Hodzic and Josh Slater lead the Bisons (7-4, 2-0 A-Sun). Hodzic averages 20.4 points and 8.7 rebounds while Slater posts 17.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. The combo ranks one and two in the Atlantic Sun conference in scoring and rebounding.
Lipscomb plays its final 18 games against Atlantic Sun opponents after falling 88-70 to No. 21-ranked Memphis Thursday night. Hodzic scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds, both team highs for the Bisons, in 36 minutes of play. Memphis shot 54 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range, 11-of-22. Memphis held a 42-23 advantage on the boards.
Stetson (3-9, 1-1 A-Sun) has not played at home since ending a three-game homestand with a win against Savannah State on November 30 and the Hatters have had 11 days off since being swept by Rice, Akron, and then Arkansas-Little Rock in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic. Ridge Graham leads the Hatters with 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
Stetson leads the all-time series 10-7 and the NCAA-era series 8-7. Lipscomb was 0-6 in the Edmunds Center until picking up its first victory last year with an 85-71 victory on Feb. 20. Lipscomb’s only other win at Stetson came on Dec. 19, 1962.
