The Lady Bisons lost their third straight match on Sunday when they fell to Troy State 6-1. Junior Danielle Hansen was the only Lady Bison to pick up a win.

“The Bisons continued to show fight against Troy,” women’s assistant coach Jamie Aid said. “Danielle Hansen had a great win at No. 3, and Alyssa Bellini lost by a close 2 points at No. 4 in the tiebreaker.

“Up and down the ladder our girls continue to work, continue to show improvements, and most importantly continue to come together as a team. We are looking forward to the week ahead.”

The Lady Bisons fell to an early 1-0 deficit when they were swept in the doubles point.

Troy State’s Grynel and Guijt defeated senior Kara Jackson and freshman Alyssa Bellini 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.

At No. 2, juniors Elizabeth Keevil and Danielle Hansen fell to Dhaoui and Veiga 8-3, while senior Julianne McMeen and sophomore Carlina Jow were defeated 8-1 by Dorofeeva and Battye at No. 3.

At No. 1 singles, Keevil played a solid match, but in the end fell to Grynel 6-3, 6-3. Jackson was defeated at No. 2 by Dhaoui 6-1, 6-2.

The Lady Bisons only win came at No. 3 singles. Hansen pulled out a three set victory over Guijt, winning 6-1, 4-6, (10-7) with a tiebreaker replacing the third set.

Bellini fought to the end in her match at No. 4, but fell just two points shy of the win, falling to Dorofeeva 6-3, 1-6, (12-10).

At No. 5, McMeen was defeated by Veiga 6-1, 6-2, while Jow fell to Battye 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
