Lipscomb senior Kara Jackson was selected to attend the 2011 NCAA Career in Sports Forum being held June 12 to 15 at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis.
She is among 303 participates selected from a pool of 1,100 nominees. Each student-athlete will participate in one of ten sport-specific coaching tracks or an administrative track. Jackson will participate in the tennis coaching track.
The NCAA Career in Sports Forum is a four-day event through which selected student-athletes will explore and be educated on careers in sports, with a primary focus on intercollegiate athletics. This Forum will be provided to participants at no cost. The NCAA will cover airfare, lodging and meals during the Forum. Through the use of dual tracks, participants will examine the key functions of a coach or administrator within sports. Foundational skills such as communication, networking, recruiting, managing culture, transitioning and budgeting will be covered with participants.
Jackson was one of two Atlantic Sun Conference student-athletes selected to participate. Belmont's Nicole Berner was selected to the administration track.
