Baseball to host Trevecca in fall contest

Wednesday, October 05, 2011

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With fall practice rolling along for the baseball team, Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand announces that the Bisons will host a rare fall contest next week as Trevecca Nazarene will come to Ken Dugan field for a full nine-inning contest on Oct. 13 at 5 p.m.

“I want us to be able to compete and even when we scrimmage each other I want to see the competition go way up,” said Forehand. “When you have a chance to play somebody else it can’t help but do that.  For the young guys, I want them to have a taste of playing somebody else.  For the older guys, I want them to feel like where they are going to fit in come springtime.”

Lipscomb shares a tie with Trevecca as Forehand previously served as head coach for the Trojans for six seasons posting a record of 211-142-1.

Fans and alumni are invited to come out and get a sneak peek of the 2012 Lipscomb squad as the Bisons and Trojans battle on Oct. 13 at 5 p.m.
