MACON, Ga. – The Lipscomb University men’s cross country team has placed two student-athletes on the 2011 Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced Thursday.
Juniors Geoff Musick and Isaiah Greer represented Lipscomb on the squad, making Lipscomb the only school with two representatives on the seven-person team.
Musick sports the highest grade-point average among the A-Sun honorees, with a 3.94 in Biochemistry. He’s a three-time member of the Provost’s List (4.0 GPA/semester) and four-time member of the Lipscomb Honor Roll (3.50 GPA/semester).
A 2010 A-Sun second-team All-Conference athlete, Musick finished 18th in 2011 and was one of the main reasons Lipscomb earned a program-best fourth-place finish at this year’s conference championships.
Greer earned his first career second-team all-conference honor on the course this year, leading Lipscomb at the A-Sun championships with an 11th-place finish. He was the Bisons top finisher in every race of 2011, and was the program’s first A-Sun Runner of the Week for his work the week of Sept. 24, 2011.
Both he and Musick are two-time A-Sun All-Academic runners. Greer is also a three-time Lipscomb Honor Roll member.
Greer and Musick will lead Lipscomb at this weekend’s NCAA South Regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The men’s 10-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
