NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a short break from action to study for exams, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team returns to home action on Friday night hosting Southeastern Conference foe Ole Miss at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Arena in Nashville.
The Lady Bisons (2-9) are coming off a 95-53 loss at then No. 17 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. Junior wing Hannah Phillips continues to pace the squad averaging a dozen points a night for the Purple and Gold and adding 5.2 rebounds per contest as well. Phillips’ numbers are even better in the month of December. The veteran has averaged 16.5 points a night as Lipscomb has gone 2-2 in the final month of the year.
Senior guard Anna Bowers is also scoring in double figures for Lipscomb scoring at a 10.8 points-per-game clip.
Lipscomb assistant coach Jada Mincy will meet up against her alma mater on Friday night. The Ole Miss grad was a solid contributor for the Rebels from 2003-07 in Oxford, Miss.
The series between the two clubs is tied 1-1 all-time with Lipscomb having won the last meeting between the two schools 74-71 at Allen Arena in 2003.
