MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb sophomore Dani Walker has been named the Atlantic Sun Female Runner of the Week the conference office announced, Wednesday.
Walker finished third in the 5000m run at last weekend’s Oxy Invitational with a school-record 16:38.53s mark. That run shaved a minute off her previous personal best.
This is Walker’s second career weekly outdoor award; she won the March 23, 2011 award after setting the school 3000m run record at the Shamrock Invite. She also has one weekly cross country award.
She will be back in action this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational, hoping to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary round. Currently, she ranks 69th in the region in the 5000m run.
