Lipscomb infielder Tadd Brewer was selected in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Brewer, from Sturgis, Ky., played shortstop with the Bisons for the past two seasons, but is expected to work at second base for the Angels organization. He will play for the Orem Owlz, one of two Rookie League teams operated by the parent club. Orem is located near Salt Lake City.

He also led the team in doubles with 14 and triples with four. He tied for the RBI lead with 35. He also posted a .921 fielding percentage.

"I was really excited," Brewer told The City Paper in Nashville. "The Angels are a good fit for me."
