Wednesday, August 31, 2005 12/21/2004 Lipscomb's Bisons closed out their December schedule with their last non-conference game of the season, an 83-54 loss at the University ofArkansas Monday night in Fayetteville .
The loss ended a six-game winning streak for the Bisons, 6-2. Arkansas is 10-1, its best start since 1995.
The Bisons kept the game close early sparked by the shooting of Fisk, but Jonathon Modica sparked the victory for Arkansas with a team-leading 16 points. He was one of four Arkansas players in double figures.
When the Bisons led 12-7 it marked the first time since the Missouri game Dec. 7 that Arkansas had trailed in the first half..
With the Bisons leading 14-12, Modica scored one of his three 3-pointers to give Arkansas a 15-14 lead a little over nine minutes into the first half. Arkansas would never t rail again the rest of the way.
James Poindexter finished with 12 points for the Bisons. All four of his field goals were 3-pointers.
The Bisons were more than competitive on the boards, as Arkansas held only a slight edge at 35-34. Shaun Durant hauled down a game-high 13 rebounds for the Bisons.
The Bisons will not return to action until Jan. 3 when they travel to Gardner-Webb for an Atlantic Sun Conference game. |
