Lipscomb's Lady Bisons extended their winning streak to five games Tuesday night with a 92-56 victory over Fisk University at Allen Arena.
"It was good to get everybody in," said Lipscomb coach Frank Bennett. "This was a chance to reward players who don't get to play much."
Courtney Boynton scored a game-high 23 points for Lipscomb, the third consecutive game she has scored more than 20 points.
Fisk kept the game close for much of the first half, shooting 51.6 percent from the field. The Lady Bisons held an eight-point advantage at the half at 43-35.
"No one has shot close to that against us," Bennett said. "They do a good job driving with the basketball, and we couldn't stop them in the first half. We did a better job of execution in the second half."
Boynton finished with nine steals, a new school record in the NCAA era. Kendra Ramsey held the old record of eight set against Rochester Nov. 17, 2004 .
Pate and Penny Jones each pulled down a game-high seven rebounds.
Fisk was led by Tiffany Young with 16 points. April Johnson added 10 and led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounding with six.
The Lady Bisons are 5-2. Fisk fell to 3-3.
This was the last game for the Lady Bisons before Christmas. They will return to action Dec. 28 when they visit the University ofNorth Carolina in Chapel Hill for a 1 p.m. game.
