Macon, Ga. - Lipscomb's Brian Fisk claimed his second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor after helping Lipscomb vault into the league lead last week.
With first place on the line for Florida Atlantic last Monday, Fisk posted a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds to hand the Owls their first conference home loss of the season. Just six days later, the 6-2 guard dominated the re-match in the Music City, pouring in 28 points in an 88-71 victory at Allen Arena. For the week, Fisk shot 58.6% from the floor including 6-of-10 from the three-point line and a 10-of-11 effort at the charity stripe.
The pair of wins gave Lipscomb the lead in the conference standings for the first time since joining the A-Sun three years ago. Fisk has led the Bisons in scoring seven times in the last 12 games, raising his points per game average to 16.6 points per game to rank fifth in the league. Lipscomb has won seven straight games, matching Kennesaw State's streak earlier in the year for longest winning streak by an A-Sun team this season. The Bisons two conference losses have come by a combined five points.
Fisk is a native of Newbern, Tenn., and is majoring in management. He will lead Lipscomb back into action on Tuesday night when they travel to Belmont for the second half of the Battle of the Boulevard, a game broadcast live on CSS.
