Lipscomb's Cody Hale broke a number of school records on the way to winning medalist honors Saturday at the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
Hale opened with a first round 66. He fired a 67 in the second round and finished with a third round score of 71 for a three-round total of 204. Hale won the tournament by six strokes over Eastern Kentucky's Ryan Britt who finished with a score of 210.
His 66 set a new school record for a low medal round. He also set new school marks for the low score after 36 holes at 11-under and for 54 holes at 12-under.
"Cody played really well," said Lipscomb golf coach Dr. Ralph Samples. "They played 36 holes on the first day and it was really hot. That may have had an effect on his final round score."
Parker Beck tied for 10th for the Bisons with a 218 (76, 70 and 72). Jonathan Beck tied for 15th with a score of 221 (72, 75, 74).
Rounding out the scoring for the Bisons were Taylor Lewis who finished 19th with a 225 (73, 74, 78) and Paul Warren who tied for 22nd with a 228 (75, 75, 78).
It was the first tournament of the Fall season for the Bisons.
